Choose Standard Option unless it is known that wet volumes applied are high or low as compared to normal application conditions

Enter digits from 1 to 100 for percentage coverage of the specific ink or varnish

Enter number of sheets from 1 upwards.

Enter sheet / web width as a factor of a metre e.g. 0.88

Enter sheet cut off length as a factor of a metre e.g. 0.66

Select choices from the options for substrate, ink type and film weight. Enter numerical details for sheet length (cut-off) & sheet width (substrate web) as a factor of a metre e.g. 0.88 etc. and enter percentage coverage & number of sheets. If an ink is printed on both sides, estimate separately and add, as coverage may be different. To avoid missing 'mouse-over' information do not 'tab' between field boxes. Click submit for on-line calculation. The answer is given to the nearest whole Kg, hence a figure of "0" will arise for parameters that calculate a value below 0.5Kg. Don't forget to add the amount needed to fill the ducts!

For your chosen parameters the ink estimate is Kg. Add this figure to the required quantity to fill press ducts and reservoirs etc. Sun Chemical provide this service based on market experience of ink consumption data. As market trends change and new knowledge is gained we will modify the ink estimation program. As there are many factors outside of our control concerning ink consumption e.g. excessive transfer on highly absorbent substrates, excessive or low ink metering etc. Sun Chemical can not guarantee accuracy.
