that are available from the frame set on the left of the screen.
1. INK PRODUCTS
Here you can identify what product Sun Chemical recommends for a given
print application. This is applicable to flexo, gravure and litho printing
for all market segments.
Most of the information is available at level 1 so you will be able to
obtain the technical data sheet for the product as well as some
application guidance and general health and safety.
2. PROBLEM SOLVING DIAGNOSTICS
Apart from the entry page, links to the application areas are only
available to Level 2 users and should be used specifically to resolve /
investigate on-press printing problems and other problems found
subsequently with printed material.
The problem solvers are semi-expert diagnostics to follow best practice
and the most appropriate navigation related to the specific situation.
In many cases there are links to images of specific print faults.
All printing processes are covered and problem selection is either by key
word that best describes the problem, or through a glossary of typical
terms used in the industry.
3. SAFETY HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT
Most of the information is in Level
1 and this area should be used for obtaining our statements / policies
relating to the materials that we use in printing inks and related
environmental issues.
You can also access the frequently used Exclusion Lists and link to other
sites that provide information on legislative and other issues.
4. COLOUR & DISPENSE
A tool for obtaining answers to
some every day questions about colour and a problem solving diagnostics for
dispensing.
5. INK ESTIMATION
Easy to use web pages for Flexo / Gravure, Sheetfed Offset and Web
Offset Heatset to give an immediate guide to ink requirements for specific
parameters, sheet or web dimensions, coverage and run length.
6. SERVICES LEVEL 2
(i) On-Line Technical Training.
Various training modules are available covering all aspects of Colour and
its measurement, Flexo & Gravure printing, Offset printing, Ink
Formulation and Pigments, Water & Founts.
(ii) Technical Articles. Access to searching our worldwide
database information covering the graphics arts industry. Any
subject can be researched giving reference to available technical
publications and papers. For searches that are specific to identify
ink products and experience, users should first use the Ink Products menu.
7. PRODUCT APPLICATION BEST PRACTICE
A new Level 2 service covering best
practices for ink use and press application.
Information is available for most flexo and gravure ink end uses to assist
customers in avoiding many of the potential post press problems.
Application best practice for specific Heatset and Sheetfed Litho ink uses
is under construction.
